Kelly Enterprises is the umbrella for all venture-related activity conducted by the Kelly family of Southern New Hampshire. I'm the founder, Sean Kelly. Nice to meet you.
My priorities are family, uncovering the hidden knowledge of how the universe works, and building fun and useful things. Roughly in that order, though the ordering gets tested regularly.
The organization exists as an outlet for building creative scientific solutions, while letting clients benefit from work designed for their actual problem rather than assembled from a catalog. The specialization is the natural sciences: computer science, biology, mathematics, neuroscience, and physics. These domains contain extraordinary crossover and, just as usefully, complementary blind spots. What one field treats as an advanced open problem is frequently a solved commodity two buildings over. That arbitrage works as well in an enterprise setting as it does through a purely academic lens.
Over the past several years my focus has shifted from academic research to applied technology consulting at EY, across a range of initiatives:
- Generative AI systems that integrate and synthesize internal knowledge alongside a client's own (including, at one point, components of this very website).
- Supply chain demand forecasting and inventory optimization, using an ensemble of time series models trained per-client on proprietary data.
- Cloud architecture and training of open-source large language models.
- Integration APIs for getting all of the above into platforms people actually use.
- Automated theorem solving.
- Quantum AI.
The through-line, if there is one: the interesting problems are almost never where the marketing says they are. They're in the data model, the knowledge structure, and the boring integration work that determines whether any of the clever parts survive contact with production.
Reach out if you'd like to talk about what we could build together.
